I spoke to Gene about running my SHD on 3×18650. He said no problem so I ordered an extended from oveready. Now I just need to cut another bicycle grip.

Are you referring to an LX2 LumaMax?

Yes, you can run the E2/Scout head on the LX2 body. Instead of low/high operation you'll end up with more of a medium/high. From a 16650, mine delivers an output roughly midway between low and medium of a LMH neutral Li-Ion MDC.

I put an M61LL in a Surefire G3. Great kitchen drawer around the home utility light.

Gene said regulated runtime with 3 CR123 would be at least 12 hours with a long taper down after that.

Not since I talked to Gene about them not too long ago.
They are in the works but no eta. A custom adapter also has to be made.

Nice G3, I've been looking around for a cheap used one.

You and everyone else. The G3 and 9P are always on my list but they seem to be on everyone's list as well. I just really like the versatility the 3 cell format offers--3 CR123, 2 16500 or 17500, 2 AA. With an extension you could run 2 16650s.
