I got my M61L 219 this past Monday, so far I'm not seeing much difference as far as color rendition goes. It makes reds look a bit better, but the standard m61 looks better to me. The 219 seems to make everything just a bit yellow. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

What body is that, and what batteries are you running in it? Thanks
Got my M61L 219!! I love it!!

1 meter beam shot. The tape is 30cm x 30cm.
smooth beam, big hot spot with smooth spill.
The dark ring on the outer spill does not bother me.

:crackup:Yeah I know I just trying to get a laugh out of you. Same here on the copycat.

Oh no, as I mentioned, I had seen the setup elsewhere and had my heart set on it. I was just another copycat.

Got my M31 219 today and it's awesome. It's going to be in my pocket.

It's a CR123/16340 body with cigar grip. It runs on a AW16340.

Nice rig you have there! What kind of runtime do you get on a AW16340 if you don't mind me asking? And you should notice your M61L 219's tint getting a bit whiter after about 8 hours of use BTW :)

I have not tested the runtime yet. Thank you for the info, I like whiter tint high cri lights.

Nice looking light :)
Is it custom, or can they be bought? I presume it's a titanium VME head?

Cheers
Matt

Matt,
Thanks. Yes, it's a Ti VME head with custom Ti body. You can get the head from Malkoff, but the body is custom made not availbe anywhere.

Better images can seen seen in post #175.

I just brought a M61L XPG HCRI off of the marketplace last week. To me the tint is surprisingly yellow/neutral?

Below is (left) M61wll vs (right) M61l HRCI. The color isn't completely accurate since I only have a phone camera, but you can see the difference in the tint. The m61wll (3700k-3800k) look much warmer than the m61 HRCI (3000k?)

When compare to the (left) new Nichia m61 219 the (right) M61l HCRI does look warm.

Maybe the M61l HCRI is old?

Thanks.

That is indeed correct, they should be ~3000K. I'm unsure why the WLL looks so yellow.
Got a picture of the module? Every single one of the HCRIs should have passed through my hands :)

My M61 219 has a yellowish tint almost like a Neutral, but my M31 219 is way more whiter when compairing them together. The tint color of my M31 219 is awesome, and leans no way near the neutral color. I did'nt notice it until I compaired them together.

Let's see if this works.

3 malkoffs below

M61wll, M61l HCRI, M61 219

Found a camera, but the HCRI xpg is not as warm as I thought it would be.

I do not know what settings the camera is on.

To my eyes, the m61wll is warmer than the HCRI. HCRI is just yellowish when I look at the beam.

One more for the thread since Glock 22 mentioned it. The m31 219 is whiter in tint than the m61 219

M61 219 left, M31 219 right.

The hotspots are not lopsided! The lights were just not shining straight at the black surface.

You're welcome. Any ideas if that is the proper tint for a Malkoff m61l HCRI? I had expected it to be really warm, at least much warmer than my m61wll.

I also thought that the M61HCRI would have been warmer than a M61WLL. Interesting beam shot though.
