Two 4300K 55w HID Kits Plus 3 cooling fans crammed in.

Two smaller fans sitting close to each ballast blowing air on them, & the big one at the back sucking hot air out. Feels like a small heater.:naughty:

So much work just to add some fans . But its worth it...:)

I really like this light Flash. It's original and creative. The fans turned out great too. The the official name is the Red Box, but you could also call it the Space Heater if you get tired of the first name...lol

Did you figure something out for dealing with the voltage to the fans or are you just running those babies full bore?

You have HalfLife2 posters dude! That's pretty cool. I think it's the best FPS adventure ever created.

P.S. You should link the information in the other thread over to this one.

Hey Flash, definately a nice unique light you've built yourself. And it's red !! You know by just turning up the pots in those ballasts you can get up to an extra ~9W each @ the bulb.

Maybe if I ran it off a Larger capacity battery it might be ok? Like a 22ah or something. I should try my 14.8v Li-Ion pack.

Hmm Sounds tempting, but Id like this to be all stock. So the risk of overheating is minimized.

This is one of the small fans near the ballast. Hopefully it will work with all the suction of the back fan.

I can't figure out which post are you talking about. Do you care to lead?

I think he means inside the ballast. You have to take it apart. Either way its too much work for me now as everything is fitted in.

Would be very nice tho to get an extra 18watts.

Hey Patriot!

Yeah it looks really natural. :naughty: Funny thing is its just a local park in an urban area.

4200K light is my fav for illumination. 6000K for beam colour though.

We don't really have big trees and lush vegetation like that in the city here. The trees they plant at the parks are low water desert type like Palo Verde, Mesquite, and Iron wood. It would be impossible to maintain that type of ground cover here unless it was watered continuously. Much of the Northern 1/2 of the state is higher in elevation so when you get above 5000 feet lush ground cover can grow naturally.

To see a scene like the one in your pictured, I'd have to get above 6000 feet the large conifers grow well.

Here is some very typical desert near me.

I really love all that desert environment in those kinds of states. But not really a fan of the dry heat.

In summer our grass & plants take a beating + we live with big risks of Fires. Last summer was Hell.

The great dividing range is right on my door step.

Here is a little more Natural close by.
