I am new to AA high power LED's, but I lone my TK-20. I have been running it with a pair of Alkalines and after keeping it on a while, the light gets warm and the output gets lower. I shut it off and ran it after it cooled off and the light output was bright again, but not as bright as when the batteries were new. Am I just wearing down the batteries, or is there a problem running alkalines in this light.

I have been reading different posts, but it said that this light can run on alkalines. Will lithium batteries act the same when the unit gets warm?

Thanks

Alkaline batteries are not good a sustaining high output power, try using some rechargeable NiMH batteries, they are much better.

Yea those batteries need to catch their breath as it were. They don't like the high mode all that well. I used some in a pinch but dumped them after I got home from the trail. Now use Duraloops and never looked back after my higher cap NiMH failed to work too but this was not the light's issue. I never used lithiums for the TK20 but if they respond the same as my other lights and gear these and LSD NiMH will work so much better in every way.
