I am trying to find someone to tri-bore a 4D Mag. Anyone willing to do this, or who has a tri-bore 4D Mag to sell, please let me know! I would love to have 1-2 of these!

I know it's been discussed before, but what if the method of "boring" was changed.

I'm thinking a reamer of some type is fixed in a lathe, the mag body is slid over it and fixed in a clamp that allows it to be moved up and down some. The reamer is then supported on the tailstock end and then spun. The mag body could then be pushed down onto the reamer leaving a "bored" out spot along it's length. Loosen and then rotate the mag body 1/3 or 1/4, depending on if you want tri or quad "boring".

I don't know for sure tho, this would probably require a special clamping jig to secure the mag body. Then you'd have to source a long enough reamer...although I think a tooling company could make one...it's just a rod with grooves cut in it and the fingers then sharpened.

(Edit : fixed some grammar mistakes)

I know its possible, Mad Maxabeam had a few until yesterday. I'm trying to find out where he got his stuff.

Would anyone be willing to ream a 4D to fix a tri-bore battery pack?

Wrong! My brother in law can tri-bore a 4D size host.
He tri-bored two for me and I really like them.
I am pretty sure that he did the tri-bores for Mad Maxabeam.
This is his email address where you can contact him.

Thanks for the tip cnjl3, I sent him a message late last night. Could you put in a good word for me? I heard from Max Maxabeam that he was tied up with projects for a while, I'm willing to wait if he can do it, but just like everyone, I want my fix yesterday! :)
