I'm not really happy with my old spotlight (vec117fs) I have been thinking about getting a Stanley HID 3000 for a while.

I heard about one has low/high beam switch, another doesn't have. So I went to Wal-Mart and I looked at them and think before might buy one. Here is pic

Both are for $70. Is the one without switch newer? why is that? Which one would you buy if you saw both?

Thanks, Adam

One without the switch is newer. I believe they cut the switch to save money. Go with the one that has the switch as it will give you a little more runtime if you need it, otherwise I don't believe there is a difference.

the one without the switch is newer, so that one will have a fresher SLA cell. So if the switch version has been sitting on the shelf a lot longer. That might affect the capacity of the SLA cell... my (perhaps incorrect) understanding is that they degrade with time if they are not used/cycled.

The low mode only buys you a few extra minutes.
