Hello,

When I first received the boards I noticed the stars and minor change to r2 but didn't make anything of it and put them in my driver box with the others.

While at work today I saw this post and noted the stars may have a role:

I checked when I got home and it is the same, the stars do have traces under them (just like image, link copied from that post)

Same apperance (but with the 4x7135 on the back), a OOO connects 2nd star from right to negative perimeter trace.

Driver retains same functionality as previous versions, but I 'suspect' it is more efficient. Unsubstanciated at this point but I have a pill with the new board powering an mc-e and is very bright, seemed to consistently give higher tailcap readings then similar mc-e powered pills with the older (no star) boards even as I rotated a number of batteries through the list (I was testing draw vs. brands of battery with series of lights all using the same driver). Could internal wiring / solder joints, emitter vf, etc. but thus far could also be improvement.

Interesting, I'd be curious to know what differences there are, if any! Now I think I'll have to pull out my little stash of drivers to see which version I have...

its installed in the last few MG lights I've gotten, and the last two loose driver's I've boughten from SB.
