I'm in no rush to upgrade, however I agree 100% that it's a great time to be a geek! There's so much cool and affordable hardware out there now. Great high powered lights, lasers, arduinos, Raspberry Pi's, cheap laptops, and there's an absolute renaissance in sophisticated and affordable test equipment.

its crazy photon ill wait to the 14th gen is out then get the last gen. its crazy amd willl be in the lead for a bit then intel takes over .. and then apple won the laptop market with there m1s.. hect even my 80 dollar amazon fire 10 is crazy fast.

Yeah, when Apple makes their own software and hardware, they can squeak out a lot of efficiencies that might not be as easy using another manufacturer's silicon.

My brother is a geek who wears a belt and suspenders at the same time. He knows all the latest techno-stuff.

Me? When I see the word Intel I think it's talking about the CIA spying on me and Apple is a delicious red thing in my fruit bowl.

I just learned I could draw on pictures that i take!😂😂😂 my boss hates me now as ever picture I send him about a project has arrows and circles whether it needs it or not but my world has changed!!!

... and they took twenty-seven 8 x 10 colored glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of
each one explainin' what each one was, to be used as evidence against us

The more things change, the more they stay the same. :)

How about video editing? Now a person can make steven spoliberg and star wars effects on a ipad

Yes, VFX have really been democratized in recent years. It used to take a huge, expensive rendering farm to churn out many of the things that you can produce on a single device now.
