Good to know... at least if nothing else works when the grid goes down, the HDS will bring provide some illumination and comfort.

Yes will be ok for awhile if SHTF. But already told myself if any major catastrophe happens emp,nuclear,asteroid etc I'm heading straight up the road 3 miles. There is an omish Community that lives there and pretty sure them people can live through anything.no electricity no vehicles. Pretty sure they will know what to do. Hell they probably won't even notice anything has changed!

My contribution. Here is my portable system.

10W Renogy USB solar panel.
USB volt/amp meter.
USB power bank.
OLight universal charger.
USB cables as needed.

This system is small enogh to carry and gives you options to set up the panel and battery bank and store bulk energy. Then transfer to batteries or device's as needed. I am not a huge fan of the charger, but it works.
