What Do You Use I/R For?

IR is not visible to the human eye, but using the correct night vision it illuminates everything very well. It's mainly used in conjunction with nigh vision equipment for hunters and military

It can be used for video-recording at night. Most digital cameras are capable of "seeing" IR light. Take your digital camera and point a TV remote at the lens and press a button. Most remotes use an IR LED and it'll show up on your camera screen. With a powerful IR source you can record video/images at night without visible lighting.

It's good for keeping your food warm on the way home :)

OK I've heard that there are 2 main wavelength groups, 1 for hunting and one for military. I can't remember the specs. No idea why there's a difference.

Surely someone can shed some (visible) light on this.
