What is better for flood light? Cree or Rebel?

I am designing a RGB+W light and I have focused most of my attention on the Luxeon Rebel, but thought that maybe I need to think if there are any other better solutions for this. I see that CREE has a RGBW LED and thought that might do better for mixing with multiples. My ultimate goal is a very small (100x100 mm) footprint light that can do decent wall washes or can be converted to spot with a lens change. Suggestions?

It's hard to lens multidie emitters without getting colored corners.

I figured I might try a diffuser for the wall-wash option. So does the CREE version have harsh artifacts for it's RGBW?

Well, I've seen the MC-E do either full-flood, or a reflector (which will have oddities on the rim), or an aspheric, which would gradually pull out an image of the die (Colored/white corners). A diffuser would likely help, though it's nothing I've played with. 4 luxeons (RGBW) would be more output than an MC-E because each of those will run at about 750 mA unless you overclock it... take what I say with a grain of salt and let's hope more experienced modders than me come in!

I don't think a little amount of oddities is all that critical - mostly because theatrical lighting / mixing would typically use multiple sets of the same color in a bank to achieve the effect. I can see it being a problem if the artifacts are razor sharp. If I design with an optic in mind, the LEDs are about 20mm apart from each other. If I just use a diffuser then I can cut that distance in half.
