So I was scouring the web for a cheap, but well made (I know thats an oxymoron) spotlight to use as my host for an upgrade.

I want to know what you think, or know, is a good characteristic of a spotlight reflector.

From the time I have spent searching on this site, The only thing I have seen that is common among large throwing spotlights, is that their reflectors are on the large side.

Do you want a flawlessly mirrors reflector? Do you want a reflector with a very steep slope?

And once you have contributed, It would be great if somone could reccomend a good host for my project! Oh just some info on it, It will be converted to HID.

Thanks in advance!

Incan and HID bulbs throws lights into all directions, when a large reflector is used, it reflects most of the produced light.

But what really matters is not only the size but also the design, a good reflector is not just a flat straight cone but a curved one because this way it can "adapt" to the light emitting pattern of the bulb.
