What's the big deal about the SF N2 LA?

Does anyone know what is the big deal about the SF N2 LA? I seem to recall that it was the LA made for the M3T and the 9P turbohead, but then they stopped making it and went to the MN15. What is so great about the N2 LA and why aren't they making it anymore?

I like it because it got the perfect round beam.
I used it in the bored M4 with 2 18650.

My KT2 came with a N2. And yes, perfect round beam, but a little yellow.

The N2 was discontinued a while ago and while I thought for the longest time that it was because the mn15 produces more lumens, I've heard from retailers that it was due to SF being unable to find a lamp maker to create batches of N2 at the same quality as before, thus implying a change of lamp manufacturer.

As others mentioned, it made a round spot (kind of like the mn60). If you value that, then I guess it was great...

Well, FWIW, there is a retailer near me that has the kit with the HA turbohead for the C3 and an N2 LA still sealed in it's little plastic bag along with the manual for the LA. They won't sell the N2 separately from the turbo-head kit. I don't remember the price. I was considering getting it for myself even though I don't have a C3 yet. Or if someone wants it, PM me and we'll talk...
