I didn't hear anyone complain about the label for the past 17 years I've been here plenty of us wore it as a badge of honor. I don't think they really "changed" it but rather it is a default designation system here that the new owner hasn't bothered to consider changing it back to the way it was. Many of us consider the label as a humorous way to describe the way others think of us, I would like to hear others who thought it was a "harmful" label here in the forum as most of us here agree that we are "addicted" to flashlights so to speak. The term 'flashaholic' could be considered as someone who is addicted to flashlights in a harmful way to self or others. That term could be modified to 'flashlight enabled' and those who try to get others to purchase flashlights as 'flashlight enablers'. 'Well-known members' are being stroked to feel good about themselves so we stay on the forum longer, click more, view more, buy more (because we are so well known). No big deal, right?
😂I wondered why I had the urge to carry a sharpie in case somebody asked for my autograph ever since the change.
Now I know why.
Well know for what.... is the question. For being a flashaholic is the answer.Yeah Lynx I was funning around while voicing a (probably) not widespread opinion at all. Truly it is not a big deal either way, though it is easy to see who the favored members are, here on CPF. They get special monikers and that is just fine by me.
The whole issue of social platforms using methods to keep folks online and clicking was the impetus for the latter comment of making us feel good because we are 'well known'.
I don't remember what I was but if I was a Flashaholic I guess I'm cured. So here you now have "new member" "member" and "well known member"?
I used to post just to get past that "unenlightened" thing with hopes of graduating to flashaholic before getting banned. But back then there were a lot more quarrels. Some of them were over the darndest little things.
Soon enough...Could be worse.. we could be referred to as well known comrade
Maybe some could suggest here in the thread some labels for the ladder as it is called. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep playing with the user ladder as it's called.
