Will an XP-G led work in a XR-E reflector?

Hi all!

I am wondering if this new Cree XPG would work and focus nicely on a XRE reflector.

I want to upgrade my R2 XRE Jetbeam II to a XPG R5 (Or S2 if rumors are true) But I am wondering if it would focus correctly, I want to try it in the Jet II because first version came with focus adjustment.

Anyone tried this before?

Yes I have a XP-G in a XR-E P60 pill ...

A XP-E pill would be better , but not by much ...
These emitters are better at spill/flood than throw ...

Various beamshots , cloud cover meant lots of reflected city lights .....
And for once the naked eye could see much more output than the camera .
