XeRay 50 with Fat Boy DL-50-anyone?

I recall MrTedBear somewhere saying he really liked the Xeray 50 with the DL-50 bulb.

Where I get something like 3600K with the Barnburner, anyone know how the DL-50 performs with the 50W ballast ?

This is really taxing my memory, but I think at shootout 3, we did some shots of the Xeray 50 using the Fatboy. Search for the pics of shootout 3. I think it was a bit on the "green" side of tint. I could be remembering wrong, though.

Think of it as kind of "underdriven" RELATIVE to how we all know it is overdriven by the 75 watt ballast.

Yeah, I remember several saying it looked a little nicer & tad brighter....but the cost of those is almost double if you can find them....so seems a waste in a non-75W setup.

Without researching, I believe the Fatboy has a wider brighter corona with the same distance, but extreme spill may be less.

I think thats the bulb I have in mine.

I don't notice any green tint at all, next to something else I may, but by itself no.
