So the jolly Red Guy asked me today....What do you want for your (insert your holiday choice here) gift? I kinda need to make up mind and let the person order it before the "holiday spirit " stops flowing tonight, or sobers up in the morning.....   if you know what I mean, with my particular "gift horse," who you never look in the mouth.....never know where it's been.... :green: Alright, all kidding aside, I've been given the rare choice of what the gift giver will be giving me.

I've been eyeing the H50 and H50b for it size, weight, and AA size and possibility of using a 14500. As I do not have a proper charger and set of quality batteries for neither AA or 14500, the H50(b) would be my 2nd choice. One CON of the H50(b) is the twisty operation, anyone else wish it had a clicky? or is the twisty more waterproof than a clicky, I've read here lovecpf, that there are water infiltration issues on some Zebralight models.

On to the H501 and H501(w), again, AA size compatibility is a big PRO as well as 14500's. But again, no charger or batteries. I like the recessed switch too. BUT I do like the specs of both the 501 and the warm white of 501w. I camp alot and having a more neutral or warmer LED outdoors is a plus.

On to the H30, I already have 16340's and a charger, but would want to get some AW's for safety and reliability issues, don't want a DX 16340 to go :poof: on my head.

I know it's late, sorry for my ramblings, happy holidays to all, and many thanks for current Zebralight owners that can point me towards the light  .......sorry for the pun, it's late, and the christmas cheer is flowing well here. Hope everyones' holiday is a happy one!

I have a H50 and a H501w, and like them both. For a camping headlamp, the 501w is the better choice (50b would probably work well too, but I like the warmer tint of the 501w in the outdoors.) For indoors area illumination, the 50 wins. Wet environment, the 50 or 50b. Easy one-handed operation, the 501.

It all depends on where you're planning on using it and under what conditions.

Edit: You might have trouble ordering a H50 today if that's what you decide on. Zebralight's company store shows it as out of stock and I don't think any US-based dealer has carried it since the 501 line came out. I asked recently and was told that it wasn't discontinued, but...

Thanks for the reply, I checked the z-light site and the H50 is not available and the H50b is not even listed in the z-light site, only on going gear . com, but I am leaning towards the H30 for it's price and size and battery availability (I really like the 16340 form factor) (. My main concern is the water resistance/proofness of each one (501 or 30)

G'nite all

Watch out for rudolf his nose is pretty bright!!!
