So far what's the LED light of the year?

Other Torches/ Votes:

McLux Ti PD/ 6
Spy 005/ 4
Firefly III/ 2
"Icarus" Trilux-mods/ 2
LRI Proton/ 1
Millermods ARC-AAA|AA 2-stage mod/ 1
My Little Friend/ 1

If I had included those that got a bunch of the other votes in the first place I'm sure they would have gotten even more votes. But it looks obvious that the P1 would have won anyhow. We'll see if anything can topple it in the next 5 months.

The criteria is simply an LED light or significant bulb replacement that came out this year that you think is most noteworthy, remarkable, and innovative in engineering, aesthetics, technical design, ergonomics, etc. Pretty much just your general opinion of the product that is the leading edge pushing LED torches towards an even brighter future.

You didn't mention if they had to be commercial production items or if mods were acceptable, so I voted for "other" and cast my vote for Eric Millers (Millermods) ARC-AAA / AA 2-stage mods.

LRI Proton. The near infinite dimming of both red and white, brightness from a AA, small, wide useable beam, flash, strobe, SOS, nice clip. What's more to like? Mine has already earned it's keep

...Of those listed, Jetbeam R123. Had both Fenix P1 and Jet-1 at the same time and with both on R123's, the Jetbeam is brighter and whiter with a slightly bigger (more useable) but hotter hotspot. I liked the P1's body design better with a shorter knurled head that made it easier to turn one handed, but overall, the Jet is just a real pocket rocket.

Man, I could really ramble on in this thread. If I can only pick ONE light of the year so far, I assume it has to be a light that's been delivered, and is not one we are still waiting on.

Hands down for me is the McLux Ti PD. As good as it gets, and then some. :)

I had to vote M*gled as I only have those and SMJLEDs. The M*gleds do seem to be pretty good stuff, though to some degree a lottery exists.

The SMJLEDs are GREAT Stuff! Just not as bright or white as the M*gleds. They are MUCH more alike with less variation though!

Without owning any I suspect I would vote Fenix if I had one....

The above are "Custom" lights; Lights listed are probably in the "best value"
criteria.................NO comparison to any of above or even SureFire Kroma!

Just my 1 penny worth and probably not worth that!

I voted for the L1T, It's a great light for me fits perfectly in my front Jeans pouch pocket and 2 output levels although the lower level should be about 4 lumens.
