Does any1 have them and how do you like them?

I've just aquired Powerizer 3.7V non protected cells and charger and looking to buy a LED light that uses 2 cells. Up to 8.4 V on 2 cells FOC. Is it pretty much chinese lights I'll be looking at?

If you have used them, please let me know how they perform against well known light such as SL PP LUX or Fenix P1.

Thanks you all in advance.

PS. I searched around but did not find good info as of yet.

Re: Nice lights that uses 2 x RCR123 3.7 V!

You might look at the Huntlight Cree: http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=144713

and the Lumapower M1 Cree:
http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=138703

Both will also take an 18650 cell.

These are just 2 new models that may be good choices----there are many, many 2xRCR123A lights to choose from.

Actually, since there can be some dangers from using 2 unprotected LiIon cells in tandem, you might want to use those cells one at a time in a single cell 123 light, such as the Lumapower D-Mini that's getting a lot of buzz:

Or, just get a couple of protected RCR123A cells from AW to use in a 2-cell light.

The thread title looks like you FOUND one, not that you're looking for one! Maybe a title like "Any 2 x RCR123 3.7V Lights out there?"

Is it possible to use protected cells in series? I was under the impression that the cells will sense a higher voltage and shut themselves down, but I could be way wrong on this.

here you go, 2 pages worth of the LIR123 and lights:
http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=lir
batteries and flashlights. Dae sells a lot of unprotected cells. I have gotten a few from powerizer but dozens from Dae
If you plan to spend more click on his wholesale site:
http://www.szwholesale.com/, it is indexed better
A lot of folks like one or two brands names. This one beats most of the non-generic and I have placed several dozen with people who use them everyday at work with no complaints, use the lir123 rechargeable:
http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/golstonreg-2xlir123a-waterproof-rechargeable-recommended-p-409.html
check this long discussion from the meager beginings, last pages are current:

Dae is a CPF member, he is reputable and has world wide distribution. The products are good and he stands behind them. The wholesale site demonstrates comparative beam shots so you should look there for information if nothing else. You will be surprised that the 7w beats many of the other lights because of efficient design. Chinese marketing exagerates the wattage, you cannot pay attention to the claims of 18w or 7w, that is not how they really work. The manufacturers do it, Dae is aware of that and it drives him nuts. I got one or two very funny emails about that situation from him. So just look at the comparisons and you will find something to fit your needs, good light and very reasonable.

The Surefire KL3 and KL5 heads are made to work on a 3 cell body. So they work fine on 2x 3.7V.
@myk: I also have the ALX-352L but never tried 3.7v cells. Do you use it alot?

Xygen,
Use it quite frequently with cells fresh off the charger @ 4.2v each, saw some numbers in a post once that with the RCR123's it pushes it at 900 something mA instead of 650 mA on primaries. Eitherwho, because that flashlight is a solid chunk of aluminum, heat dissipation isn't a problem, especially since we're still running the LED below spec. Every stupid multimeter I have DOESNT do amperage so I can't test it personally =(

I tried the 3.7V cells in my ALX-352L and I must say: Amazing! It's not only brighter (180 -> 215 Lux), but it also draws less current (1.08A -> 0.85A slowly rising).
I think, that it draws less current indicates, that the electronic can handle the higher voltage pretty well. Is this right?
Great light!
Thanks to myk for this info!
