Should work...same principle voltage change from a 4.5 volt bulb to 6 volts power. However you realize that overvolting a bulb will dramatically reduce its projected life span (if the bulb is rated for 100 hours you might get 5-7 hours of light).

Yeah, I know about the shortened life. I was just wondering about the viability. I didn't know if a higher voltage bulb was more sensitive to over-voltage or something else I haven't thought of.
