In all honesty, I probably will not be purchasing another light in anything other than 21700 moving forward.

It kinda just makes sense. Would get a substantial jump in runtimes and would not make the light much bigger at all

Count me in for an MD2 and an MD4 both in 21700. Just ordered my first 21700 light the other day. Wish it had been a Malkoff.

Yep. My last four torch buys have all been 21700 models. The reduced voltage sag when powering XT editions...Would be sweet. One conundrum may lie with the expected length of the body. I would prefer to see the MD2 accomodate 1 x Unprotected 21700 (70mm) near flush with the rim. This would allow for 2 x CR123A with only a 2mm differential. Add a spacer for a protected 21700.

Yes, I'd love to see MD2, 3, and 4 for both 18650 and 21700. That would leave us with six options to choose from. Alternatively, Gene can make the body for the 21700, and spacer for the 18650. What do you think?

MD3 would not really work with 21700 cells. MD2 and MD4 would be great. I wonder why Gene did not use the opportunity for a full redesign of his bodies now that he made the switch to the pineapple style.

Not enough demand for them. That’s the answer I got. Hard to believe but we nuts are not the bulk of his business. Go figure 😁

That is the same reason he has never made an MD1 body. When I first thought about making them, I contact him and he said go for it, he didn't think the demand was there, so he wasn't going to make them. If I wasn't so busy I would whip out a run on 21700 bodies....maybe later this year I will have free time.
