Yes I have had a L2D and have even reviewed it with REAL beamshots (not white wall pics). And mine had a terrible memory effect, as stated earlier.
Nice pic, looks just like you

That will only happen if your do a fast off/on cycle, wait a bit and it will always start in low mode.
I don't know, what I know is it was just like I explained earlier.
HKJ told this earlier, maybe that's what happened. Or maybe it had a deffective component that kept the memory for a longer time, a malfunctioning capacitor or something.
OH, death laser beams are really cool, by the way.
How dare you call me a liar or an idiot? You don't know me. Telling these things on a forum is easy, but would you tell me if you were here, right in front of me?
I'm here just sharing my experience with a L2D I bought AND returned to the store because it was full of defects. If you're here defending your beloved crappy L2D, and does't accept anyone to tell bad things about it, GROW UP and look for a different forum.
I sincerely expect an action on the moderators part, because I feel disrespected and I will NOT accept this from someone who I haven't even met in person, and whom I have NOT asked for opinions.
If the thing had memory, it's not my fault.
I will not post on this thread anymore, unless a moderator takes an action, followed by an apology from you.
Well I was unimpressed with my L2D Q5 too, and returned it. Good UI? Come on, help me. The L2D has one of the worst UIs I've seen. It doesn't even memorize the last setting, so when you turn it on in the middle of the night you never know if it will turn on high or low or SOS. What a crap.
What you are spouting is not opinion or fact, it is misinformation, which either out of malice or stupidity, is not welcome on CPF.
And what if you're wrong? There's no reason a malfunctioning circuit shouldn't exhibit the behaviour he described, and calling someone and idiot because you didn't realise they might have a malfunctioning light is..... ironic?
And also, I wasn't aware personal attacks were welcome on CPF. Quite the opposite, in fact.
What are you talking about? The L2D clearly has memory. Since the reverse clickie cuts off ALL power to the electronics it must have some way to remember what the previous light level was when you tap the switch. Even if it resets back to default if you wait awhile. As I noted, this functionality is probably implemented with a capacitor.
How would a malfunctioning (ie out of spec) capacitor not appear to act as memory if it failed to discharge in a short period of time?
I think everyone needs to take a breather. Marduke, as a valued member you should know that personal attacks are against CPF regulations. Lets get back to the thread in hand.

It is like saying that a "out of spec" battery contains more power, it can happen, but it will not be a big difference.
Personal threats also trump calling someone a liar.
