Found this awhile back:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/9000-LM-Lum...lashlights&hash=item3a78b5860e#ht_1801wt_1061

Been contemplating buying one but wondering if they are any good, then I found this forum and figured someone on here has bought one, I searched but found nothing. I purchased a small 300 lumen flashlight for 10 bucks off ebay and have been thoroughly impressed with it but there's a guy at work with a streamlight that he gave 180$ for and keeps ragging on mine even though they aren't anywhere near the same... now I just want to shut him up haha

Keep in mind none of these lights will make anything like the "9000 Lumens" in your title.

It's normal for the output of these lights to be grossly exaggerated.

Rule of thumb: on a proper heatsink and a good driver an XM-L is good for 1000 lumens. Even then this light has only 7 emitters...

With a cheap driver and poor Heatsinking you'll get nowhere near that.

With this light expect 3000 lumens out the front.

That ad doesn't even give a brand, but if you look closely at the picture given, it says it has cree LEDs, not XM-L like the ad copy states... not likely to be what it is represented as in any way shape or form.

Well maybe form... it looks like a flashlight.

It is also very hard to tell what level of lumens are being produced even when you are pretty savvy on LEDs.

"Here *click* this is what 9,000 lumens looks like."

If I told you that, and it was really bright, most of us would believe that it was pretty close to the truth. So, they can claim 9,000 lumens and even if it is just 3,000 lumens it is not something that most folks would even know.

Buying no name flashlights off eBay is a dicey proposition. You lucked out with your $10 flashlight. If your friend owns a Streamlight, odds are this one won't impress him either. Is the risk worth $100?

Go smaller with more output to impress. 2000 lumens for how much from what?! He'll exclaim as you pull out your Skyray King...

I bought this light and i like it. Previous posts are correct that it is definitely not 9000 lumens. It draws about 22 watts from (3) freshly charged 18650s in series. At an ideal 140 lumens per watt for the T6, this would only be 3,080 lumens.

In any case, it is bright and surprisingly well made. For reference, it seems about twice as bright as my Sipik SK98. I also like the fact that you can use two cells or three due to an extension on the tube that can be unscrewed and either 18650s or 26650s thanks to spacers that came with the light.

I paid $59.00 plus $15.00 for DHL shipping.

My Jetbeam RRT-3 1200 lm is hot after 20 minutes & it will eventually run to flat at 1200 lm. 9000 lm you would need oven gloves to hold it, let alone the electronics surviving!

This pup has a really big and heavy heat sink. I put it in a desk drawer on high for 30 minutes. Ambient temperature outside the desk was 23 degrees C. The outside of the heat sink on the light got up to 39 degrees C. A 16 degree C temp rise on high is not bad. Again, not 9000 lumens though...

I''m Green and New here and was inquiring about these "High Lumen" Ebay Flashlights also. in particular this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/11000-Lumen...5201327?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item3f1b8d8daf

At an advertised 11000 lumens, I'm asking the experts here that a good estimate would be 3600-4000 Lumens maybe?? So a 3600-4000 Lumen LED Flashlight for around $100, is that a good price?? I'm just pinging to see if anyone has purchased any of these flashlights from Ebay (China), and has actually performed measurements or real-time comparisons, and/or can assess the value and quality of these flashlights?

This brings me to my next question, is there a post here that will show an in-expensive method in measuring lumens without HIGH dollar sensing equipment?

I say buy it, Test it out. And toss it in your freezer for about 45 min
If it still works after the freezer voyage, YOU MIGHT BE AN AX MEN

It is normal for 1 18650 to power 1 XML.
For 3 18650 to power 7 XML means the torch is woefully underpowered. Worse it puts you into battery explosion territory.

Look at the pictures in these threads. Then decide if you want a torch that can do that.

If you do want to chance it, read the following instructions o how to take care of your batteries.

I say Buy it. I paid about $216 shipped for a Sunwayman T60CS and charging base. That light makes about 2400 lumens tested and confirmed. This el-cheapo is huge and probably poorly made, but it should be fun just to play with. I'm sure it would make a good gift later to a non-flashoholic.

Get the Trustfire X100, it's been reviewed on other forums, maybe here too and has prooved to be of good quality for the price. If its not bright enough, swap the driver for more output ;)
there are peeps on here that can do it for you if your not handy with circuitry
