Another Mag combo question!!

Hi Enlightened and Flashaholics around the *bright* world!!

Another question for you :

I am looking at Mag 2C (with 2* Liion, so 8.4v total) combo. 3 choices:

- SSC P7-C 2800mA (rated 900lms)
** Moderated: DX link deleted - Kestrel **

- 5*Cree R2 5Modes (rated 1200 lms)
** Moderated: DX link deleted - Kestrel **

- 5* Cree Q5 5Modes (rated 1000lms)
** Moderated: DX link deleted - Kestrel **

So according to you which one would you pick? Following criteria:
- flood vs spot
- lms (i know the ratings are off, but I hope they're all off the same way...so?)
- power comsumption / burn time (at equal batt. It seems the Cree on high burn 1000 mA vs 2800mA seems a lot)


I have a TLE-300 already, and thought the triple emiter is the reason for lota flood/little spot, but I read somewhere the SSC might be floodier than the Cree with 5 emitters. Any comments??


I know the Cree I picked are 5 Modes, they also exist on single mode, and this doesn't make much of difference to me. THIS much power is not for LOW modes, for that I have plenty other stuff (LF2XT, Mag AA TLE5EX, Surfire G2 LED...)


Thanks for the debate. If anyone comes up with another *bright* idea/suggestion I am willing to consider other things, and no Malkoff are to low power and too expensive for now.

Maybe the DIY section is better for this.


If I am not mistaken none of those are direct drop-ins. All require some work like lathe or similar trim to fit ect..

That is quite true, but I believe the little trimming is not really modding...

And my question is more related on the output/consumption/throw of those LED's in a Mag 2C. Thought people might have this combo (or in a 2D, its the same wit 18650 liions or similar)
