Any lights out there with no Hot Spot?

Anyone know of any LED lights that have no Hot SPot in the middle? Just a bright even spot? or even just a very smooth transitionless spot from the inside to the edge?

Any LED with a beam diffusing filter in front of it. An FM34 in front of a G2L for example, will show no trace of a hotspot.

Central Tools makes a worklight and a flashlight that use an optic [lens] that gives a perfectly even beam. IIRC the flashlight is called the FlashFlood. The beam is bright and even, but not that wide compared to the L4, as the optic concentrated the light output into a smaller area. I have the worklight and it is fantastic.

The SureFire L1 has a very uniform wide but focused beam with little spill. I believe it uses optics.

you'd be surprised to know a perfectly centered LuxV in a KL4 does have a distinct hotspot. while my other KL4 is the same...but not that distinct:shrug:

Very true, The naked Cree beam is less wide angled than most though. Depends if Solar Powered Pickle wants more or less directionality.

How about the DX (SKU 5979) "Romisen" 1xAAA light, it looks to have a large hotspot. Although I not own one and do not know about the beam smoothness.

An aspheric lens, mounted semi-close proximity to the emitter will project a uniform white circle with no hot spot. YMMV though depending on the projection characteristics of the emitter, and the geometry of the aspheric. You could (forexample) get the opposite effect... a donut hole projection.

It won't be a "pure" flood though, at least not to the extent of just the bare emitter.
