May as well piggyback here vice starting a new thread.

I have a NIB U2Ultra

How do I know if it's the new and improved version?

Cheers again - and Keissling, my U2 has earned it's place as my main light. Simple, bright, adjustable and TOUGH. Beam is perfect for my use too. I will look into the newer light.

They had better hurry up and release it before the Inforce takes a good portion of its market share...

Crees have become very viable with the use of newer optics made specifically for them. Check out the Malkoff M60 threads and surefire E2DL for an example of what crees do with good optics.

I have a classic U2 (which runs off 2x123), and recently bought a Nitecore D10 which runs off a single AA and is virtually key-ring sized. The D10 is the better torch - brighter, dimmer and longer runtime (on low),and small enough to carry every day. :mecry:

(Except for UI - the U2 still has the best UI.)

The D10 is the better torch

I very much doubt that :D
Which one would go into a deep dark cave with you? A U2 or the D10? Obvious answer IMHO.

Brighter is not better.
