Help! I have an old version (I believe) of the Titanium Innovations Illuminator Spot Light - at least it appears to be the same product as pictured on the Battery Junction web page here: http://www.batteryjunction.com/titanium-illuminator.html though mine has a green body, and I think i may have purchased it from Amondotech(?) a few years ago.

In any case, the spot has very limited use, due to my flashlight compulsiveness _ I had fun with it for a few charges, then put it on a shelf for a long time. Today I took it out, found what I believe to be the correct power supply (Spec Lin L5A-138075R), and plugged it in to charge it.

Upon connecting the power supply, the light begins making a clicking sound, and alternately flashing green and red lights at me. I assume this is not good.

Any thoughts or guidance here would be appreciated!:mecry:

Thanks!

*EDIT* Looking at my own sig (duh), I see that I did in fact buy the light in question from Amondotech.

Sorry .... I think you let the battery DIE ... beyond rechargeable.

Do you have a DMM to test resting volts of the battery ?

You'll prob. find it VERY low . (way below 11v.)

8.5Ah 12V SLA Battery > I think that's a common "Alarm System " battery.
I think you should be able to find one locally to replace it.

(That IS the correct Txformer - I just looked at mine , to verify for you .)
You should not let it go more than 2 months without a full charge , or it'll die.

I do have a DMM - please indulge my ignorance and tell me - am I testing the battery alone, or while it is connected to charge, or...?

Thanks!

Be sure you have the switch off. The Illuminators were not designed to charge while being on. It is easy to accidentally hit it and turn it on.
Be sure the SpecLin Charger has an output of 13.8V.
If you need to replace the battery, they are rather inexpensive.

Take Care,
