Anybody have this setup? I just ordered the IMR-M6 and 3 IMR 16340's from Lighthound. How does this compare to the other rechargeable and non rechargeable options for the M3T? Thanks in advance.

Not sure but I'll bet it's bright! Probably still can't touch the 1185 with bi-pin socket but probably the next best 3 RCR123 option. Give us some beam shots when it comes in. :)

I have a M3 with the Turbo head (traded heads with an M4) using the IMR M6 bulb and 3 pcs of IMR 16340. Works fine. Nice 'n bright for like 10 mins. The M4 has the non-turbo M3 head and 2 pcs of 16700 protected running a stock M3 lamp. Also good and long runtime too. I have a diffuser filter from Surefire on the M3 head/ M4 body which I love.....

I have a KT-1 with IMR 6 700 lumens with 3 IMR 18650 and I put it in 3 IMR 16340 set-up, but maybe its me but it doesn't appear as bright.

Am I seeing things or is this normal?

Smaller cells have higher effective circuit resistance and greater voltage sag when compared under the same load.

When an 18650 is drained at ~2 amps, it's a ~1C load on the cells, when an IMR16340 is drained at ~2 amps, it's a ~4C load on the cells. You're demanding the same output from a cell with 1/3-1/4 the capacity.

What you are seeing is normal. Larger cells *usually* generate brighter results in direct drive applications.

Wow...

Just got the setup today. It BLOWS away the MN16, with much more throw and a tighter hot spot. Very pleased, but the 9 min runtime is kind of a bummer.
