okay guys, here's the thing.....
i'm looking for good spotlight (strong and long beam, well built, solid burn time, rechargeable, handheld, possibly water resistant,...), i need it for the marine usage, at night when there's no moon or any other light to illuminate the surroundings to use the spotlight and light my way...
past few months i've been looking all over the internet and trying to pick one, but photos tell no words, on the other hand customer reviews are usually divided, one is saying it is the best spotlight in the world, other is telling that he isn't that pleased, etc.
so i would really appreciate if you could give me an advice and help me with my selection.
btw
beside the model it would be really nice if you could tell me the store where to order it on the affordable price, because i'm in croatia, europe, so i have to order it by mail..

thank you very much in advance

:welcome:

I'm guessing that is would be very important for this light to be water resistant, if not "dunk-able" Unfortunately there aren't any low cost options that I know of with this feature. How water resistant does it have to be?

Would you be using a 12V remote power supply via a cord to a lighter socket or does this light have to be operated detached from a boat or vehicle?

i was thinking that it should be detached, so after its burntime (dunno half an hour) that i put it on recharge on 12V socket...
and about the resistance, it would be perfect if i would be "dunk-able", but i think water resistant in terms of resistant to moisture and few drops of water would be enough...
i realize that its not a cheap gadget, but deffinitely much cheaper "over there" :), than here...
last item i was watching were cyclops thor sirius 9, and some Vector SLH100V HID Spotlight..
so if you could tell me your reccomendations and what do you think about this two devices...

thank you again...
and thx for greetings...
i was really delighted when i've realized that forum such as this exists :D

The Cyclops thor sirius 9 is definitly not going to work. This is and LED light with older generation LEDs. The performance will be terrible compared with today's standards.

The Vector HID that you mention is also known as the Power On Board or POB. It is perhaps one of the best know and popular lights here on the forum and can be "searched" for more info throught the search window at the upper right. Use "POB" or Power On Board" or "Vector POB"

It's known for its performance on a budget and is a reliable light. The downside will be that its a big heavy because it uses a SLA battery and it's not water resistant. To get an HID light that's dunkable you'll have to spend upwards of $800 and I'm not sure if your interested in spending that much. The POB should be fine as long as it doesn't get dropped into the water or splashed with a huge volume of water. You could always wrap it in a plastic bag if it was raining or something. The POB can be purchased for around $100 plus shipping pretty much anywhere. Amazon has them too.

You might also consider the Stanley HID. It's smaller and lighter but still provides great performance. I'm just not sure about the availability of this light in Europe. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=225844

thank you for help...
ive been searching for it all over internet, only amazon has it, and it can not be shipped to europe :(
shame :(
dunno what to do...

it seems to be a great spotlight, but the price is really hot...
unfortuantely, im affraid that i cannot afford such a light...
i think im gonna have to look for some much cheaper options... :D
