Does anyone know if anyone has made a 4xAA or 4x - 6x D body tube for the Fenix P3D? It would be nice to be able to use it during ememgercines when CR123s are hard to come.

:welcome:

There aren't any AA or D sized tubes for the P3D. IMO the P3D would look really weird with a D sized tube. The head would be much smaller then then body.

You could make your own but that would require equipment and supplies.

Would it be easier for you to modify a Maglite 3-4D with a multimode driver and a current generation LED?

The bodytube for a L2D will fit the P3D, however there isn't enough juice for it to work(I have both a L2D and a P3D.) The P3D just flashed quickly showing the batteries are going dead. It shouldn't be that hard to make a 4xAA tube if you base it off of the one for the L2D just longer. I do see your point going with a D cell conversion. That would require way too much work adapting the heads and what not.

Too bad I don't have the technical know how to make a tube.
