The TPT100--a dream, a hope
Someday, someone is going to make a Truly Pocketable Thrower with an output of 100kcd.
I have a feeling I know who will do it first.
What do I mean by a Truly Pocketable Thrower? Roughly, sub-10cm in length, sub-2.5cm in diameter (except probably the head).
I don't mean something so big that it has to ride clipped onto your pocket. If we include lights that big, then I'm pretty sure that the TX25Cvn is getting very close to a TPT100 already--just a few more tweaks and it could be there.
Instead, I have in mind something like the Nitecore EC11--less than 8cm in length. Runs on an 18350 (I doubt if a TPT100 will be able to run on a 16340--at least for more than 5 seconds!!)
Now, that particular light is never going to become a TPT100. Wrong reflector, and not a good chassis for modding.
But that's the kind of size I have in mind for "Truly Pocketable".
Ditto for the D25C--you can clip it to your pocket, but you could also just let it drop into the bottom of your pocket and no one would notice it is there. Of course, the current top end for that (brought to you by V54) is around 30k. It is a TPT30, and I'm not sure it will ever become a TPT100.
The ZL H600 is also Truly Pocketable, even though it has an 18650 in it. But i don't know whether a Thrower could ever be compact enough with an 18650 in it.
So for today it is just a dream, a hope.
But for someone else, someone we all know and love, it might be an ambition....
