That's a lot of runtime for ~500 lumens on two small cells. You using this for EDC or just for fun? If it weren't for the instant shutoff, I could see running those all the time.

For everyday use, I've been running mine on a single 18650. I actually like the slightly dimmer output and the bonus two-hour taper after the two hours of regulation.

Yeah I'm gonna buy that spacer, it would be better with the long 18350's.

I'll give it a try for edc and see how I like it. It can always use 123's if I have to and I always carry some on me. That's pretty good runtime with an 18650, good to know.

We are by far the coolest sub-forum.
Also there is a 1.2v AA Malkoff Thrower called the Hound Dog Tiny
Hey thanks for sharing this. I bought an E1HT to try it out too, and it's a fantastic little thing. I put it on a 1CR123 body, and it's both a decent thrower and tiny — small enough to disappear into a pocket. I was walking around in the city last night, and pointing it at skyscrapers: it was really neat to see a clear hotspot that far away. Very fun.

E1HT is the shiznite, worth every penny.

PSM, are you talking about using the 3v rcr123 keeppower cells? I've used those and they work, but sometimes the brightness will drop when turned on, even at full charge. Turning back off and on again fixes it. It never seems to do it on a momentary press. My m31w behaves the exact same way with every e series switch I have. They have both also done a runtime test to completion and worked normally.

I could never get 2X18350 I'm my MD2. Are you using the extension kit?
The extension kit will still not allow the 2x18350 but will however make a cool ring on the MD2 and the other ring covers the gap on the MD4. I tried both on the same MD2/MD4 at the same time and couldn't get the tailcaps to close. However it's still a cool feature!

Yep, you'll mash the soft copper anode on protected cells trying to thread the tailcap.

I got lost, what happens using the extension on MD4. We're you fitting 4 primaries and couldn't thread-on tailcap?

4 keepower RCR123A 800mAH will allow the extension to work but the batteries are rattling in the MD4. With the keepower 18650 3500mAh it will work also but the tailcap on turns twice, it's snug but not a properly fit.. the big ring is ok but not with both attachments. Also you have to remove the O ring each time to attach and remove. I personally don't like the extension on the MD4 , The extension does not allow for this type of Kydex flashlight holster.
