Okay, tell me what am missing..

Soon I will be in hunt for 9p in it's original version ( No bore )
I will put in it some malkoff L dropin
And I want to be able to use 2X 16650
Or 4X AA Eneloops, also I want a tailcap to make it tail-stand ( candle mode ) and some sleeves to prevent any rattling.
So tell me what I need to make it happen and where to find these Extensions tubes.

You probably need 2 of the overready 17mm 2XAA sleeves and 2x18650 extensions. Solar Force is hit or miss so maybe overready again but don't own their stuff. That said the M61 just like the M91 works fantastic with 4XAA. Never tried the MD2 tail with that combo.

edit.... That info was for a 6P. Opps.

To use two 16650s, all you need is a 35mm (A19) extender, and a Malkoff tailcap worked. For four Eneloops, you'll need to use both a 35mm and a 65mm extender. In this setup, a Malkoff tailcap didn't work (too much length), but a Triad tailcap did work.

If we're lucky, Oveready will have some extenders made this summer.

If you are using 9P body:

for 2x16650, I think it's not possible with the current options. You got to use a 6P + 65mm extender.

for 4xAA, get a 65mm + 35mm.

Oh he said 9P. I was thinking 6P. :ohgeez:In that case a 18350 extension and 18650 should do it. Basically 2X 9P. I wish Solar force was more reliable in terms of working. Some extensions do and others don't.

Oh man, I hate messing with extenders. And y'all will need to check my math on this:

First requirement: 2 16650 batteries

The 16650 battery, basically the same as 2 CR123s (16340). If you want to run two 16650s, you need a 130mm-ish host.

This 2x18650 host from Five Mega will run 4xCR123s, or 2x16650s, yes? (http://www.nitemods.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_17&products_id=6)

Second requirement: 4 AA (14500) batteries

An AA battery is 14500. Four AAs would be approximately 200mm, assuming end to end.

In order to get 4xAAs, he'll need the 68mm extender. Which takes the body length to 130mm + 68mm = 198mm. 68mm extension (http://www.nitemods.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_31&products_id=52)

EtA: the A19 (35mm) is a Surefire accessory and is discontinued. You can get aftermarket extenders at Oveready.com and Nitemods.com. I'm sure other places as well, but these are two I'm familiar with.

Do you have these 2?

Nope. I have a G3 that I've used to run two AAs, but I don't mess with extenders.

The math all fits, but I'd wait until @Archimedes or @Grizzman or @Woods Walker has a chance to confirm.

I personally tested with a 9P and Oveready extenders, and they do work.

The single CR123 length extenders are called Custom 18350 extender. The 18650 version is not currently shown on their website.

I do not know if they offer 18650-length extenders that aren't sized for 18mm cells, but I'd be surprised if they did.

I generally try to avoid these, too, for a few reasons ....

* in the P60 system at least, there is usually some type of custom or aftermarket option that will fit what you want, without adding parts

* reduced structural integrity

* increased electrical resistance

* potential problems with intermittant or loss of contact, if too long

* potential damage to batteries and/or springs, if too short

* adds complexity to the system

Yes, I realize that many or most of the above are minor (even trivial) issues.

And if a particular flashlight needs to be set up for "multi-fuel" options, I'd rather use multiple separate tubes (or, failing that, adapters) instead.

I prefer to keep things simple, if I can

I don't know about trivial - I prefer to idiot-proof my equipment as much as I can, being the idiot in question.

Okay
Does anyone know if you can ran 2 AA in 9p without adding anything?

You can do it without anything else inside, but I prefer to get a sleeve to take up some of the extra room from the smaller diameter of the AAs.

I have a few 9Ps with M31s setup that way.

Thank you for confirming that.
Now do you have any idea how to run 2 16650 inside 6p? What extender am looking for? ( see pic above )

Fivemega 68mm extender
http://www.nitemods.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_31&products_id=52

From Nitemods site...
1x18500 body + 102mm = 3x18500
2x18650 body + 68mm = 3x18650
2x18500body + 102mm = 3x18650 or 6x16340
16340body + 68mm = 2x18500 or 3x16340
16340body + 102mm = 2x18650 or 4x16340
2x18500body + 68mm = 5x16340
18650body + 68mm = 2x18650

Maybe check it's compatible with your 6P, as it doesn't say.

Edit: Maybe we're getting off topic?

Does Surefire's make any 68mm extender? I want to keep the Surefire's theme here
