I am not sure, but you should have README or INSTALL files in the root of the package once you untar/unzip it. Normally those files tell you exactly what you need to do to install the software.

If you are trying to compile the package from scratch, at least on the UNIX platforms I use, you need to "./configure" or "./config" the package first before you make it.

If you can find the binaries already compiled for your version of OS, there is no need to compile.

The README and INSTALL say that I just need to "make" and then "make install"

When I "make" I get error 1.

I tried ./configure and ./config just now with no avail.

I used to have a bunch of window maker links, as I used it too. Configuring things and finding out why they dont work is always the tough part.

RPMFind is your friend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have the RPM of if but it requires about 4 other RPMs all of which require 2 more /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Probably easier to tackle the download of all the RPMs than figuring out the error I guess...standby

Sabby,

Try the website where you downloaded the package. Normally there is a FAQ. You can't be the only one having this issue.

Aaaaahh, the joys of UNIX!
