Wanted: Single 18650/single mode/P7/mid-amp draw

Need helping shopping for a light, and DX seems down today so can't browse there.

(EDITED: upped to ante to $100 max)

Primary requirements: Low/mid quality/budget minded (under $60?). Single 18650. Single mode/no multi-mode! Nice and floody P7 driven at a moderate level, say, 1800-2200mA. Smaller head/no huge reflectors.

Desired/not required: reverse clickie tailcap.

MrGman measured a DX MCE at 385 lumens. (so much for '900 lumens')

MrGman calibrated both integrating spheres so the numbers can be compared.

Note:
The DeCree-XPG uses an optic - almost all the 297 lumens goes into the main beam.
The other lights use reflectors so 1/2 the light goes out as spill, only 1/2 the 385 or less than 200 lumens goes into the main beam.

As a point of reference, I made a couple of P7 bicycle headlamps with Ledil Boom S reflectors at 1400/2800mA lo/hi, and think the overall beam shape/intensity would make for a good Floody general use flashlight. I figured a midrange amperage would give a great compromise in runtime, intensity, heat generation.

I'll add Electolumen's to the mental list, I scrolled throught the first page (only 5.5° beam?) but have to shower after two days camping without shower, but had to stop in to CPF first!!!

I have this Clearwater P7 and it under drives the LED, kind of like you are looking for. Tailcap current is 1700mah from an 18650, I measured it at 300L in bigchelis' sphere.

Not the brightest light by a longshot, but it runs cool, steady and runs for almost 90 minutes. I wouldn't pay more than $25 for it... so its nothing special. Its just an Aurora / MTE chinese rebrand. Nothing special by today's CPF standards but it will do what you are looking for. It has a REALLY nice flood beam and I got lucky with a yellow-cream color tint.

One of my better cheap purchases.

Yesterday I received the light I finally decided on, and I am very pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Uniquefire XPG 1x18650 from Dealextreme for a whopping $22.01!

It blows away my E2E with HO-E2R IMR16340 during initial testing. Spill is nice (although not area-light flood as the P7 is) with a good transition into a nicely throwing hotspot. At the moment I don't have a clear space without street lamps to get a more precise evaluation. But the trees approx 200ft away (in high ambient light) seemed at least equally illuminated compared to the E2E, yet with more spill.
Size isn't too big for jacket pocket. Wrist strap is perfectly sized and removeable. Beam is great. It appears to be a fantastic compromise in every area to make for a near perfect general light. And the price!!!
The only drawback is the forward clicky. I prefer to have momentary on before the click, not momentary off after the click.
This amazing little light is having me seriously consider selling the old E2E.
I'll have to find some nice big dark space for side by side beamshots.

yup, reverse clicky was in the original description of needs at the beginning. I gave a wordy description to help those visualize better the two types, as I remember at the beginning wondering what the heck was meant by forward/reverse.
