As impressed as I am with my LX2, I'm wondering if it woudl be possible to but an XPG R4 in there and what the OTF output levels would be. First of all we would have to know what current the driver is sending the emitter. It would be awesome if it was up near 300 L OTF but I seriously doubt that. I'm guessing it would put out around 260ish.

What do you think? Anyone care to speculate?

I'm guessing about 800ma on high, similar to the e2d. The optics would probably need replacing.

Yeah, the (somewhat larger die) XP-G probably would need a different optic. Why not mod an older generation, outdated SF with considerably less value - a Luxeon L1 host (long enough for 2xCR123) would be just as good but would cost $75 or less. Why mod a current new-tech SureFire? The mod cost is the same either way, so you might as well use an inexpensive outdated host.
