Poppy- I'm debating a 9ah, just for the continuous runtime aspect. It completely throws off tool balance, etc. but as a prep, it might be nice. Devil's advocate says it's expensive per aH, however.. 4's and 6's are the sweet spot.
I've been thinking about getting another 40V battery for my greenworks blower/ string trimmer combo. I can't quite finish the front and back yards on a single charge. I imagine 40V to 120 inverters work more efficiently than 18V to 120V inverters do. So if I get another 40V battery, then I may get an inverter that will match it.Poppy- I'm debating a 9ah, just for the continuous runtime aspect. +Yea, I've got 9 pieces of Pecron equipment and will order the E3600LFP as soon as they release it....
Wow, I did not know that. Good info+
wowzer! that's alot of Pecron
BVH, if you also purchased some solar panels in '23, you could deduct a good percentage of everything on your '23 Tax filings
(if you owe taxes)
You have to have this equipment for home use only.
Again, you have to owe taxes.
The Alternative Energy Tax deduction is like 28% of what you spent..
Wow! I didn't know that ryobi makes a similar unit, but IMO they are unjustifiably pricey.Poppy- Ryobi makes similar for bothb18v and 40v batteries. Price prohibitive in my opinion, you're getting into 2000 watt inverter gas generator cost. May work for some folks though. I purchased a 100ah Lithium Poly trolling motor battery over the summer, and have a couple smaller inverters I can use with it. So far, so good. You'll have to let us know how that 3rd party clip on inverter works when you get it, I put one in my cart lol. Backup is always good...
Yesterday, I snapped in a 4ah battery, and plugged in the TV. It worked. I let it run for about 25 minutes, just to see that it worked. I didn't give it a run time test. You'll have to let us know how that 3rd party clip on inverter works when you get it,

Poppy, for what you'll spend on small battery packs in the long run,
something like this is a way better plan.
Portable Power Station

I'v had really good performance from my Pecron gear, BVH seems to like his also.

If I may add that a lot of sun gleaners will go with a 48 Volt system in order to handle higher loads, among other advantages.+
It's really a runtime factor,,
once the gee-wizz wears off of using a power tool battery to run your kitchen blender, one realizes it's runtime you want.
The power tool batteries are good to do DC~DC:: like a DC led bulb or small DC fan,, low watt AC stuff.
There's a large energy loss going from AC to DC then DC to AC to power stuff,
that's why man invented solar panels to charge battery banks.
Obviously, solar panels are DC electricity in either 12 or 24V flavor
add; if you have an all-in-one battery bank or large LFP & inverter, you can use that to specifically power something bigger,
then you can have one extra thing for your gas generator to power,, if that makes sense.
= hybrid setup
Where can you get adapters so other brands work on Ryobi tools? I think some are 3D printed.I have a similar adapter for making dewalt batteries work on my Ryobi 1 gear. 👍👍👍
I have a dual fuel gen I bought for Y2k. However, if you do not remove some parts from the carb (like the needle valve, IIRC) using natural gas will erode them. I presume its the same today. And its super not efficient for natural gas, but maybe current designs do better? So natural gas is "the final option" if gasoline runs out & I'm willing to pay for the carb to be repaired later. For the $100 difference between the cost of a gas only vs a duel fuel genset I think it is worth it to have the flexibility to be able to run off of my BBQ spare tank, and to be able to obtain and use propane when gasoline is not available.
I got mine from Amazon, which allows for returns if there are issues. Not sure what brand in particular you're looking for, but there are a bunch that adapt to the Ryobi tools. I have a DeWalt-to-Ryobi adapter and it works just fine. You are NOT supposed to use the adapter to charge a different brand battery on a Ryobi charger, fwiw. Your mileage may vary. 😉Where can you get adapters so other brands work on Ryobi tools? I think some are 3D printed.
Does Ryobi have an inverter for their 40v batteries? An inverter that would work on both would be great. Another idea is an adapter that fits on a Ryobi battery and presents two connectors that will allow using ANY inverter.
