I thought I'd resurrect this thread because I wanted to start one like it, but it's already been done, so I didn't want to be redundant.

Here are the settings for my EDC-120T:

Primary Setting [click]: 15 Lumens
Secondary Setting [double-click]: Lowest Low
Low Setting [triple-click]: Tactical Strobe
High [press-hold]: 120 Lumens (Burst)
Force Setting: Disabled
Button Lock: Disabled
Automatic Turn Off: Enabled
Locator Flash: Disabled
Momentary: Enabled
Customization: Disabled

I've been playing around quite a bit with the settings and this is what I've settled on. I don't think I'll be changing it now, but you never know. :)

Anybody else? I like to hear how other people have configured their lights.

I feel your pain! :grin2: I waited less than a week, BUT I was sure that it was going to arrive this last Friday and it didn't come until Saturday--oh the agony!

This is how I have my 100WWCn set-up:

Primary Setting [click]: ~5-6 lumens
Secondary Setting [double-click]: ~25 lumens
Setting [triple-click]: .07 lumens
High [press-hold]: 100 Lumens (Burst)
Force Setting: Disabled
Button Lock: Disabled
Automatic Turn Off: Disabled
Locator Flash: Enabled
Momentary: Enabled
Customization: Enabled

When my Ra Clicky 140-T gets here I will have to update. Not sure how I am going to set that one up.

I have not done any programming on it yet, it is at the factory default.

I thought about trying to customize it but I am pretty happy with the factory levels of the EDC Executive.
1 for med
2 for high
3 for low
press and hold for full brightness

Mine is a 100WWCn.

Low Setting [This is Force, so Click]: Level 3
Primary Setting [double-click]: ~ Level 6 (A fairly low, low.)
Secondary Setting [double-click(again)]: ~20 lumens
High [press-hold]: 85 Lumens? The high without burst.
Force Setting: Enabled
Button Lock: Disabled
Automatic Turn Off: Disabled
Locator Flash: Enabled
Momentary: Disabled
Customization: Disabled

Depending on your situation, the locator flash can shine through your pants. If it is really dark, it shines right through jeans!

My 120EDCE settings

Force Setting: disabled
Customization: enabled

High: Maximum
Med-High (Secondary): 42 lm
Med (Primary): 15 lm
Low: Emergency Strobe

I choosed Emergency Strobe to have it handy in case of necessity or under accident stress. On the other hand, if I need low-low, the setting can be changed in half a minute.

My 120 Executive EDC settings:

Force Setting: On (forces to minimun/triple click setting)

Click on to "minimum": Level 1, 0.08 lumens.

2x click to "primary": Level 15, 11 lumens.

2x click from "primary" to "secondary": Level 19, 42 lumens.

Click Press to "maximum": Level 22, 85 lumens.

The Methods to My Madness:

Usually, when I first turn on one of my lights, I'm either already dark adapted OR someplace where I don't want other people to be "shocked" by a sudden appearance of light. Thus, my light comes on to its lowest setting. Once there is a need to go brighter, I rarely need dim again so I don't mind my "forced" setting being tucked away and not a 2x click away.

The rest of my settings are all products of working backward from the 120 Burst / 85 Maximum. Whereas an increase of 50% or so is necessary to notice a difference in light output, for me it is nowhere near a useful difference. So, since 120/85 is my max, I chose 42 lumens as my "meets most occasions maximum" and 11 lumens as my "meets most occasions for everything". Originally Primary was 15 and Secondary was 60, but the difference between 60 and 120 or 60 and 85 was not enough that I even saw a need to use Secondary, I found myself jumping from 15 to 120/85. These are similar settings to the Novatac EDC 85 and 120 (which I no longer own). The only real difference is the force setting to the minimum. I find I toggle between 11 lumens and 42 far more than I ever would between .08 and anything.

Now that I have my Clicky triangle complete, I can post the set-up on my latest two Clicky's that have arrived. Look a few posts up to see how I have my 100WWCn set-up.

120EDC-E:
low: .17L (level 3)
secondary: 7.5L (level 14)
primary: 30L (level 18)
high: 120L (level 22)
force setting: disabled
locator flash: enabled
button lock: disabled
auto turn off: disabled
momentary: enabled
customization: enabled

140-T:
low: 3L (level 12)
secondary: 35L (level 19)
primary: 140L (level 23)
high: tactical strobe
force setting: disabled
locator flash: enabled
button lock: disabled
auto turn off: disabled
momentary: enabled
customization: enabled

I am positive that I will leave my warmie and EDC-E alone, I like the set-up that I am currently using. My 140-T on the other hand may get changed up some until I finally settle down with what I want. I am still playin around :)

For now, most of the defaults work for me just fine on my 140 cn. I did set it to come on at the minimum setting (still default brightness). This way, I can go directly to minimum when that's all I need, and also go quickly to Max. I also have the locator flash running most of the time--that is just the greatest feature. This is how I set up all my HDS/NovaTac/Ra lights.

i'm fairly happy with the default settings from the factory. i really like having the force setting disabled b/c i like my light staying where i left it. switching to another setting is only 2 or 3 clicks away anyway. b/c they are for entirely different lights i have completely different uses for each. i usually keep the EDCT set on primary and the EDCE on secondary.
the T model is more of a work light for me and the E is my house light.

EDC T
primary Setting [click]: 120/85 Lumens level 22
Secondary Setting [double-click]: .94 lumin level 8
Low Setting [triple-click]: .08 lumin level 1
momentary= whatever used last... usually primary
Force Setting: disabled
Button Lock: Disabled
Automatic Turn Off: disabled
Locator Flash: Disabled
Momentary: Enabled
Customization: enabled

EDC E
primary Setting [click]: 42 Lumens level 19
Secondary Setting [double-click]: .94 lumin level 8...
Low Setting [triple-click]: ..08 lumin level 1...
momentary setting (click hold) level 22
Force Setting: disabled
Button Lock: Disabled
Automatic Turn Off: disabled
Locator Flash: Disabled
Momentary: Enabled
Customization: enabled

edit: i reconfigured both lights last night.... can't get over how useful .94L really is.

I have a Ra Clicky 170 Cn.

I am not able to customize the settings?

I am following the procedure in the manual.

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks....

I have my Ra Clicky Tactical (with flush tailcap) set up like the default Clicky Executive with momentary and customization enabled.

120 EDC E
Using Tenergy RCR123 LiFePO's from 4sevens (performance is better than expected)
Factory brightness settings (I kind of like the spacing)
Locator Flash enabled (because its awesome)
Customization mode enabled

It does take some practice (and patience). Make sure you do a "factory reset" before attempting to enter the Customization Mode. At least that worked for me.

The 170 Is a bit different to program. I have become a expert programing the lights (120-140)... When I got the 170T in and try to program it I encounter difficulties and the problem was putting it in programing mode.... The clicks have to be 20 fast clicks and they have to be exact you can not go over like the regular clickys.... The last click has to finish in on and you have to hold it in for 5 seconds till the dim light goes away and than let go.

Try it it worked for me.
