I looked for a recent thread listing the regulated incandescent lights that are available today, but only found old threads or questions regarding making a regulated light.

I've seen many posts that mention the SF A2, but what other regulated stock lights are out there? A lot of people run LEDs because of this issue, so I would like to compile a current, comprehensive list of incandescent lights that provide good regulation for those that want to enjoy the color and clarity of these lights while getting the full output of the light throughout the course of its runtime.

So, I have the A2, what others are there?

Regulated Incandescent Lights
  • SureFire A2 Aviator
  • Princeton Tec Yukon Extreme (Headlamp)
  • Lighting Pro Lights (various headlamps, flashlights)
Regulation Accessories
  • Lighting Pro Powerstik PS1 (regulated 8AA > D battery adapter)

Hello RichS,

The Princeton Tec Yukon Extreme on incandescent high and incandescent low are regulated. However, this is a headlamp.

Thanks Tom! I'll add this to the list.

Thanks fivemega. Are these still available anywhere? I saw that the thread was a few years old, so I did a search but wasn't able to locate a place to purchase one of these.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it here: http://www.lightingpro.org/products.php

I'll add this as a great option to provide regulation on normally non-regulated lights.

Will it fit in a Mag 2d? Cool idea. Sorry if getting off topic.

Aren't some firefighters lights regulated?

Fivemega, will that work in a ROP?

If not, is there anything similar that will?

Battery stick is connected 4S/2P for total battery voltage of 4.8 volt (4x1.2V) and regulated to 3.6 volt.

Their own website.
They used same Powerstick in their 2D plastic flashlight for firefighters.

Lightingpro does make some good regulated incandescent products, though their voltage settings and battery options are more practical than hotwire. I've been toying with their Officerlite, which has the regulation circuit in the head instead of in the battery pack. With something like kaidomain's 2D Li-ion, it gets 10-12 hours constant regulation. I'll do a review sometime after I've experimented with a variety of bulbs.

Wow, I thought there would be more options out there for those wanting a stock regulated incandescent light. Are there any others out there other than the A2, Princeton Tec Yukon and some Lighting Pro lights??

I have a battery stick and a regulated Tigerlight. The TL was custom built by JS and delivers 7.2V using eneloop AA cells for low self discharge. I use it with the Gen4 TL LA, WA1111 LA made by JS, and the Streamlight SL-35X LA. Each has it's strong points in beam pattern, brightness and runtime.
