Well I've only had it 5 minutes but MD3 has to be the best malkoff overall, and one of the best lights period. So many great battery and drop in options it'll make your head spin. Just need some aa sleeves for it. It's got an 18650 with a spacer right now while I wait for the 2300 mah 18500's to charge up.

The Malkoff Hound Dog Super is a awesome throw and fun to hold. You will not get full output with the MD21700 but for me it's a blast and comfortable attached to the hip! I do have the Md4 which takes 2 18650 batteries but I really didn't notice much difference because I only use it for short blast. I use a my Backup the MD Hot throw on the 21700 for longer viewing.
At the most I rarely hold the light more than a minute! I have it in this configuration just because I can! Also the Hound Dog Super has a High/Low switch installed for low lighting conditions.

I love it. The m91bw is such a good drop in. I've been swapping it between the md1, md2, 21700, and md4 as needed. I'm almost ashamed to admit how little use the rest of my stuff has been getting after I got this one.

I asked Gene about low runtime with the md3/m91bw and he said to expect at least 24 hours with either 18500's or 123's. That's good to know, seems like plenty. I finally got around to a high runtime test with the 2300 mah 18500's and was pleased with the result. 1hr and 20 minutes at 950 lumens. Eat your heart out turbo modes.

Idk but thanks for the heads up!

Now I have to figure between an 18650 wildcat and the M91N…

I always have on me a HDS rotary and have been using an M61N in an MD3 as backup/jacket carry. I like the size of the 91 better but the wildcat adds more versatility.

First world problems.

M91/md3 is pretty awesome, and with a hi/low ring you've got all you need. Plus you can carry it in your pocket no problem unlike a wildcat.

Got the hound dog in. After selling 11 lights and buying 6 malkoff... think I'm done for several years.

Hound dog throw looks like a lot more than the ~1000 lumens it's rated at. Love the ability to run 4x123 or 2x18650 in it. Reminds me of the surefire L4.

Oh yes. Agree. It was amazing to get 100 lumens out of a light back then and be absolutely content with it. To many people now want 10,000 lumens or nothing 😁

It's not a real light unless it burns holes in pockets and starts fires
