Regarding the M61N LLLL Group Buy

Yeah so I'll just restart my conversation/ GB musings here.

I will have the post for the M61N LLLL Group Buy up probably tomorrow, thought I was going to get some time last night but it did not work out that way. #sorrynotsorry

ANYWAYS

My current thoughts are as I posted over on the Front Porch. I will have everyone sign up and indicate their preference of 5000K or 4000K. It is not likely or guaranteed to get both, so we will tentatively say that at the end of the initial sign up period (aka PHASE 1) whichever has a higher amount of interest will be the chosen K temp. If it's close to a 50/50 split, we will discuss doing 4500K as a compromise. The LED will likely be an XP-G2, likely 80/ 85 CRI. I will be asking Gene if he happens to have some in stock as I know some of his batches of 4000K XP-G2s were very nicely tinted. If it's another K temp we will likely have to supply the LEDs, in which case CRI choice can be a discussion.

Signing up is commitment to the group buy as a WHOLE, so if we do not end up going your preferred K temp, it will hereby be considered a "**** move" to back out at that point as the group will be relying upon everyone's interest to be initiated. Please take this into account signing up. It remains possible that there is enough interest to get both K temps created, but only if there are 20+ of each.





As I have said elsewhere, my original run M61N LLLL draws 33ma @ 9V, 37ma @ 6V, and 55ma @3.6V. Output is roughly 23 lumens. Output w/ High/ low ring on 'low' is roughly 1 lumen, effectively the same as any other M61 dropin on 'low' as current draw is the same for all high/ low rings.

I'd love to see a Bodyguard V3 as the V2 that has either high low ring or click to once for high and twice for low. Same form factor as the V2 but with 1100 lumens on high and maybe 20-30 on low. 2 primaries or 18650 just like the V2 also.
Available in cool or neutral.

So this is interesting. I just checked and my M91 and M61 draw the same with the head on low"76ma"
So how does that work if the high draw is only 40-50 ma?

I shouldn't have said current draw I think. I should have said resistor. That's interesting though, IDK I'm not an expert. I'll ask Gene next email.
