McGizmo Haiku - An Ideal EDC - An Essay

Just when I think I've been away from flashlights long enough, this thread pops back up into view. Thanks Tapatalk, you're going to cost me several hundred bucks, I see a Haiku coming soon... I've held out for 4 years... I think 2014 will be the year I get Haiku'd! Cheers, Alex

    Ka-Bar Becker BK2

The BK2 is an absolute tank. I've had mine for a couple of years, and beat the snot out of it on a regular basis, it still looks almost new. It has one of the thickest blades around, and the steel is a nice alloy for what it's designed for. I like the feel of the stock scales, the palm swell...

    SureFire E-Series Addicts Unite!

That looks sweet! Let me guess, it's either a triple 219 or triple XP-G2 High CRI? Great intro to the E series format, the addiction never ends... Cheers, Alex

    "Why did we Stray?"

You know, posts like this really don't help those of us who are McGizmo-challenged, and don't as yet have a Haiku... If I read any more posts like this, PSM's Haiku AA thread and nbp's Haiku essay, my wallet will bleed! Before the AA model was released I kept myself away using the...

    Foursevens Preon P0

The emitter board screws into the head. To tighten it you'll need a very small set of needle nose pliers/modelling tweezers, or some very small split ring pliers. There are two very small notches in the edge of the board that you can use to screw the pill back in. Hope this helps! Cheers, Alex

Knife & Light pics. (Identify your images!)

Re: Knife & Light pics. This is my unbreakable combo: Ra Twisty 85Tr and BK-2. Sorry about the terrible picture, I just received the 18650 tube in the mail and snapped a photo! Cheers, Alex

Knife & Light pics. (Identify your images!)

My case for the underrated, underloved Surefire M4

The Cavalry has arrived! I'm going to need some quiet time with that picture now... Your collection never fails to disappoint! I prefer only having to charge 2 cells when I use my lights. That's what I'm going to keep telling myself...:laughing: Cheers, Alex

AA Flashlight (new single cell converter) addition to the series

This looks amazing. I've always been on the fence about McGizmos for two reasons: PWM and AA compatibility. I suffer from photosensitive Hemiplegic Migraines, which have made me incredibly sensitive to flickering lights. PWM that is undetectable to most people is unbearable to me, including...

My case for the underrated, underloved Surefire M4

Why oh Why did you have to mention that Nailbender LED dropin??? Now my wallet will have more reasons to cry... That's another great thing about the M4, the fact that you can use C/P/Z series tailcaps! It opens up more lego options, and also gun mount options! I wonder how funny a...

Needed: less modes. ON AND OFF -- THAT'S ALL I NEED.

If it doesn't need to be super bright, a Surefire E2e with a Lumens Factory EO-E1R bulb will give you over an hour of ~90 lumens on a 17670 cell. I use mine all the time, it's as simple as you can get! I'm a huge fan of Incandescents, they don't get much love anymore because LEDs have far...

    Just lost my new light!

Aww man that's not cool at all! My condolences, I hope your Sundrop finds its way home. I lost an old Novatac modded with a Neutral XM-L when I was interstate for my cousin's wedding last year. It was the worst feeling going through airport security, reaching for my light in my pocket to put...

My case for the underrated, underloved Surefire M4

The T in the lumens factory names denotes they are designed for the Turbo Head. If you want to use 2x 17500s in your M3 you'll need the HO/EO-M3 bulb. I run a HO-M3T in my M4, it provides a great balance between runtime and output. I actually sold my M6, because I found every time I wanted...
