Nice! What coating is on the Mule head? Isn't it a nice little combo with the MDC body?

Here's a standup shot. They both have Mcgizmo LE one is a nichia 119 the other has his neutral XPG2. The only difference are the host.

The Mule heads shown are made with Aleph compatible dropins in mind. McGizmo's work, the Sandwich shoppe sells some, and Datiled sells some here from time to time that he builds.

Does the head accommodate any kind of drop in?

The MDC is fully potted, I believe ... so, no, it would not.

Unless perhaps you meant the (McGizmo) mule bezels pictured above, which accept a threaded "Aleph"-type light engine.

EDIT - scout24 was faster to reply ... :)

OK, no sense in buying an entire functional flashlight just for the body. I would love to see a smooth reflector with 1.5 amp xpe or 2 amp xpg2.

If you look under the Malkoff parts section, he does sell the CR123 and AA bodies separately.

One more shot for size comparison to some other familiar lights. HDS clicky on the left and Prometheus AAA beta QR on the far right.

$35 for the CR123A host. The host and switch are all one piece. It is E-series compatible. I use a VME head and a M31WL with mine.

I am really enjoying this thread and the various lego projects you guys are putting together.

It has me thinking about doing a MDC body with a Aleph 19 head (UV symbol engraved) from the Sandwich Shoppe for a UV light.

Has anyone tried this yet?.

Yes it is! Light weight, small, deep pocket carry, stealth look. It's really a great option for those who have a extra LE, $35 for the body and around $40 for the empty head. There is a bare Al version also listed.

I run a M60L/LL in the VME. Primary or RCR16340

Ooh, that is nice Ben! Now that I have an extra MDC body laying here I am tempted to do something like that and get a VME head for it and a M31L or something. That would be a really handy little single mode long running tasklight.

Did you see what I did to my work EDC McMalkoff Lego? I heat anodized the Ti McClicky pak to look like a flame. I think it looks pretty rad now!
