Many thanks to Thomas for starting this thread and to everyone who posted here or contacted me privately.
Thank you all my friends for the moral support… :bow: … :thumbsup:

This is what happened… on Wednesday afternoon I was splitting wood using my tractor driven log splitter. Don't know exactly how it happened but suddenly my left hand was hit hard. After taking off my glove the damage became visible… My thumb was bleeding heavily, the nail was pulled out and the first part of the thumb was almost completely cut off.

In the hospital they also found out the bone was broken in three pieces.
Got some surgery and thank god amputation wasn't necessary.
After two days and despite the medicines it still hurts…

Ouch! Thankfully you still have all 10 fingers.. be nice to the doctors, they seem to have done an outstanding job in restoring the thumb

sheeesh, you cant go hurting your hands like that man,
You have to keep cranking out those fabulous mods of yours!
Glad to hear you get to keep the thumb,
I hurt my hand last week in an ATV accident, but not near as bad as yours.
Really sux not being able to fully use the digits !

Get well soon Freddy! Seems like everyone is hurting their hands in the last few months. I know 3 people that have had circular saw accidents in the last few months one of them lost 3 fingers.
